County Tipperary belongs to the province of Munster and covers an area of 4,303 km². It is situated in the middle part of Ireland and is considered the largest inland county in the country. Due to this the county is divided into North and South Tipperary with its capitals Nenagh and Clonmel. However, this separation is only for government administration purposes.
Tipperary is known for its horse breeding and Hurling team. The traditional county has very fertile agricultural land. Places of interest are Althassel Priory, Cahir Castle, Rock of Cashel and Redwood Castle. Tipperary also offers a wide range of outdoor activities as it is bound by mountains in the south & west and Lough Derg in the north.
